The video embeds that WordPress.com supports for all of our blogs – no upgrade required are found here.

The VideoPress upgrade include in the Premium upgrade bundle allows you to upload videos from your computer for hosting and playback directly within your blog (or on another site you can designate).
Premium bundle details http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/

wordpress support site on embedding youtube is very helpful.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/
It has one mistake where it says how to eliminate the display of related youtube videos in your blog once your own video has been played.
It says “You can disable related videos by appending &re1=0.”
That’s almost right but it should be “&rel=0”. that’s L not 1
This now works well and takes you back to the start image of you video and not a collection of cringe-worthy videos by other people -
You do NOT steal videos from YouTube and upload them as if they were your own. You just use the shortcode.
