Videos Not Working

  I have tried to embed a few videos into my blog recently and they’re not working. At first I thought it might just be the video but now I realise it’s the blog as it’s happened on a few occasions.

  I have the embed code for a video I want to put on but when I copy and paste it in, it doesn’t appear. When I go back to the post after pressing publish, the embed code has disappeared.

  Hi there – I see you embedded one today. Make sure that you’re using the specific URL that works with our system: YouTube

  Also, when you enter that URL, make sure you’re in the Visual editor, not the Text editor, and that the URL is on its own line and is NOT hyperlinked.

  If you keep having this problem, can you please reply with the code of the particular video you’re unable to embed? I’m happy to give it a whirl. :)

  Hi, thanks for your reply. It wasn’t a Youtube video I was trying to embed but I found it on there afterwards and used that instead.

  For future reference, can I only embed Youtube videos into the blog? No other providers? The one I wanted to use was on BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01csshk

  Ah, I see. We support embedding from a number of services; there are links to instructions for each here: Videos

  The embed code from that BBC site won’t work, however, because it includes flash, which is stripped out on WordPress.com for security reasons: Code
