  • Hi there!

I am able to view all the image on the front page of your website in full screen when I click on them.
This is working fine for me.

Let me know if you meant something else.

I am not sure what blog you are looking at.
I have a blog which I have not used for 2 years it is called Frank and Donnis Travel Blog. It WAS capable of viewing full screen.
My new blog Frank and Donnis Home and Travel started 2 years ago. I have never been able to enlarge the photos to full or even 3/4 screen. I have tried again by clicking on the image, double clicking on the image and right clicking on the image.
My most recent post on Frank and Donnis Home and Travel is post number 654 and I certainly cannot view images full screen.
    Fingers crossed you can help.
    Frank

  • Hello Frank,

I was looking at the images in your blog frankeeg.wordpress.com.

Could you please let us know your website address where you’re having an issue so that we can help you?

If you are not hosted with WordPress.com and are using the open source version of WordPress, i.e. WordPress.org, and hosted somewhere else, then you can ask for support in the WordPress.org forums.

    The current piost is

Actually I need to be clear about this. It is the photos which will not enlarge to full screen.

  • Sorry for the confusion. I was checking your other website.

If you’re using the new Gutenberg editor to edit your posts-
Insert an image, in the right-hand sidebar; you’ll see the Block settings for the image. Scroll down, and you’ll find Link Settings. Change Link To to Media File.
You should be able to open images in full screen now.

The other option is to use the wp-admin editor. Open your site by appending wp-admin/ at the end of it frankeeg.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Open the post, click on the image. You’ll see a toolbar on the top with a pencil icon. Click on the pencil icon to edit.
On the following screen that opens up change the Link Settings as above.

Let me know if it works for you or you have more questions.

Thanks for trying. I cannot find any of the settings you are suggesting. I have no idea which editor I am using as I cannot find any reference to it in settings or nor can I find block settings. I have spent an hour going backwards and forwards through various editing and settings an none of which you explain appears. I have got to the point I am ready to give up. When I first set up this blog there was an edit page for photos so I could set what size they appear on the page. I can no longer find that editor. On my original blog photos appeared as a large thumbnail. By double clicking, the image doubled in size and by double clicking again the image became full size. Double clicking again returned the image to its usual size on the paged. Somehow I am simply not able to find those options you refer to.

  • Recently, a new editor has been added to WordPress named Gutenberg
It allows website creators to build a website using blocks, which are small drag-and-drop units. In the video below I am using the new editor which is the default editor.

If you open your other website https://frankeeg.wordpress.com/
and click on any image on the frontpage it opens in a fullscreen window. It has a cross on the top to return back to post view. Is this the behaviour that you want to replicate?
Please see the GIF here to see it in action- http://recordit.co/aBzOvGVWiW

I would like to make changes to what I mentioned earlier-
Insert an image, in the right-hand sidebar; you’ll see the Block settings for the image. Scroll down, and you’ll find Link Settings. Change Link To to Attachment Page.

If your editor is not the same as in the GIF above then click on Learn More button on the right-hand sidebar of the post editor.
