Viewer identification

    How can I identify who is viewing my site? Can I do it on the free plan? If not, what plan level is required to to do this?

    Hi there, all our plans include the statistics described here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

    What they do is tell you general information – that you’ve had one or more visitors, what pages or posts had views, and what country the visitor’s device reports being in. What it can’t tell you is the actual identity of visitors to your site.

    Generally even if you were to purchase a Premium or Business plan and use Google Analytics (information here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-analytics/ ) then you still would get more generalised information about your visitors too; but Google Analytics can be a nice complement to our integrated stats to add extra insight about when your visitors are turning up and what they might be more interested in.
