Viewer stats count followers?

Are views by my “followers” counted in the daily stats? That is, if I have 40 followers but only 1 visitor/viewer on a particular day, does that mean my followers aren’t reading my blog that day?

We aren’t able to tell you exactly who is viewing your blog just the number of visitors/views. Please note that your followers do not necessary have to actually view your site to see your posts. For example, if your followers read your posts via email notifications or the WordPress.com Reader, that view/visitor would not be recorded in your stats. Therefore, it could be that you are actually getting a lot more views – just they aren’t clicking into your actual site.
One way to sort of move your readers to actually click onto actual site would be to change this: Settings > Reading > For each article in a feed, show: in your Dashboard.
Change it from Full Text to Summary so that the email notifications that go out will only show a summary of your post, meaning that those readers would have to actually click into your site to read the rest of it.
