viewers cant see my blogs

    I have been advised to ask people to clear their cookies. That helped me, but then of course I had to log in again on the next visit I clicked on the hyperlink from my web page.
    BUt having logged in, it then tells me this..
    http://pressgang.wordpress.com/ is marked private by its owner. You can:

    Request access to view the site. We’ll send your username to the site owner for their approval.
    Log out and sign in as different user. You’re logged in as ‘pressgangband’.
    Learn about privacy settings.

    That is no good to me or to my hopeful viewers.
    All I want is for people to click on a link and be able to view my blogs? Is that possible?

    And why can I not just ring or email a helpline for this site?

    Hi Damian,

    You’ve marked your blog as private. If you’d like to make it public, you can do so via your Settings -> Privacy page:
    http://support.wordpress.com/privacy-settings/

    Ok… but I don’t think I have! Hence my request for help. Under the privacy settings I have chosen for the site to be open to search engines. I have also NOT ticked that I want my blog to be private, presumably that means it is public?
    or have I missed something?
    How do you know that I have marked my blog as private? Are you looking at something other than the increasingly annoying page that tells me that I have?
    I also keep putting something in the tagline and it fails to save it, I am pressing on the save changes button.

    Are you referring to pressgangband.wordpress.com or pressgang.wordpress.com?

    pressgangband.wordpress.com is not private and anyone can view it. However, pressgang.wordpress.com is set to private, so you’ll need to change your privacy settings via the Dashboard for prassgang.wordpress.com.

    pressgang.wordpress.com is also registered under a different username, so you’ll need to log into that specific account to update your Privacy Settings.

    ah.. I am referring to pressgangband.wordpress.com. And I have just updated the link which was wrong…and now it seems to be fine! Thank you so much for that!
