viewing a sub-page
-
greetings. I added a sub-page to the “about” page but it doesn’t appear on the blog. It does, however, appear in a new page count. where is it? I’ve refreshed my browser. what am I doing wrong? thanks in advance. http://www.scottiechronicles.wordpress.com.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sub or child pages do not appear in the nav bar in almost all themes. They do appear in the Pages widget if you are using one. In these themes the parent page will automatically list any child page in the side bar: Fauna, Redoable Lite, Regulus, and Misty Look. The INove theme is the only theme that has child pages in the nav bar.

OK. just added the “pages” widget. No problem. BUT, why does the “global dashboard” now show up as a widget? I didn’t put it there. And I don’t think I want it there?
-
Well, you didn’t put “WordPress.com” and “WordPress.org” either! They’re not widgets, they are individual links in your Links widget. If you don’t want them, go to Links > Edit and delete them.

you are so right. and I wondered how they got there in the first place. is there any reason I’d want/need to link to my global dashboard in the first place????
-
I guess they’re pre-set by WP as sample links (just like the sample “Hello World” post).
-
Well, that makes sense I guess. Although it showed up late on my blog as a pre-set because I’ve never seen it there until today and the blog’s been up since august. alrighty. thanks a bunch.
