Viewing each category separably

I have a photo blog and each participant has their own “set” or category. When you click on a name at the bottom of the blog it will take you to a page with all the thumbnails of the photos. Is there a way that after clicking on a photo you can scroll through JUST that persons category? I have searched for this answer and can’t find anything to do with my problem. Many participants are not happy with the fact they can’t see just one persons set of photos. Can anyone help me??

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please see here so you understand what’s going on step by step. The categories and tags placed either at the top pf posts, or the bottom or on the side depending on the theme all direct to the wordpress.com global tag pages. The Categories widget &/or Tags widgets links you place in a sidebar direct only to entries within the blog.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/categories-widget/

So if your visitors click “Amanda” in the footer of the theme in the widget they will locate every post that has been tagged with “Amanda”. If they click the “Amanda” displayed at the side of the post on the Duotone theme they will be on the WordPress.com global tagging pages.

Next it’s important to know this.

In the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/

The Duotone and Monotone themes display only thumbnails and they must clicked to access the complete post. This cannot be changed. It’s coded into the template.

Consequently if you do not wish to have a thumbnail only display you will have to change themes to one that provides a display that you approve of. See the lists at the link I posted above please. :)

You are correct and I’m sorry. I tried to correct my current post and didn’t know how to delete it. I’m sorry. After creating the second one I figured I would get some complaint about double posting….again, sorry.

Regarding your comment to my multiple posts. I’m a little slow (which I’m sure you are catching on to) so the reason why you aren’t able to view a full set out of the thumbnails is due to the theme being used. Correct? The Thumbnails aren’t a problem. The problem we are having is when someone clicks on one of the thumbnail photos and views it, selecting the next photo with the arrow wont take them to the following photo in the category.

    ie… Category “amanda”

I select Amanda 174/365 I click the right arrow it goes to Sarah 174/365 not Amanda 175/365 or Amanda 176/365 etc….

Playing around a little I think I have it figured out now. Thank you Timethief! You have saved me from more frustration!!

Yes, the theme in question Duotone is coded to display thumbnails and we cannot edit themes or templates. I’m glad to hear you figured this out. You’re welcome and happy blogging. :)
