Viewing my images in Dyad theme

    Hello. All the usual preliminary apologies for being new and a bit rubbish – and thanks in advance for any help!

    I am using the Dyad theme as it seemed to be a good one for showcasing images, and I LOVE the way the main ‘front’ page looks. However I can’t find a satisfactory way to get my images to display within the posts themselves.

    There seem to be three options:
    1) Make the image a ‘featured image’ – this looks great on the front page, in the chequerboard grid. But once you click through to the post itself, the image is cropped and partially covered by grey boxes. (Like my post entitled quick doodle

    2) Post the image within the post itself – this looks lovely when you click through to the post, but doesn’t work on the front page as there’s no image. It just makes a double-width box on the grid, with only text. (Like my post entitled non-comittal tiredness doodle).

    3) Post the image BOTH as a featured image AND as an image within the post – this looks nice on the front page grid, AND looks OK in the post, but means you see two versions of the image, which looks a bit inelegant. (Like my post entitled Hierarchy of needs).

    Ideally, I’d like the image to display in the front page grid like it does when the image is ‘featured’, but when you click through to the post itself, to have it display in the middle as if it was just within the post. (i.e not cropped or greyed-out).

    I’m sorry this is so wordy, but I feel like there must be a way to make this happen! Dyad is supposed to be good for displaying images, and that’s all I want to do! If not, perhaps there is another theme which might be better?

    Congrats on your great blog. I’m really sorry not to help with YOUR query, but I can see you can help with mine. I can’t get my blog posts to show at all. I’m trying to get a grid of them, below the intro – like on the demo. But how do you get them to appear as grid at all?
