Viewing of Private Site
-
Hello, I have had one visit on three separate days of the past week registered from China. It is not directly to my domain, but through my **.wordpress.com address.
Is this possibly search indexing, or other?

Hi there! I’m seeing one site related to the account you are contacting us from which is currently set to Coming Soon (Settings > General) and when I go to Stats in the dashboard it is showing no recent visitors. I’m wondering if you’re perhaps contacting us from a different account than the one that the site you are referring to is associated with. Would you be able to check if you’ve opened any other WordPress.com accounts or share the site you are referring to?

Hi mikewp,
Yes, I’m using a different account here than the one in question (mainly due to confidential company info on the other not ready for the public). The three days were days I was editing the site, with no visits on days I was not active. I’m not sure my mobile service would like through CN, but maybe
Wondering about the visits just because the only other country besides the US, which hopefully all come from me visiting my own site, is Canada a handful of times. Not very concerned just wondering how I can tighten it up if it’s external views not from me. Search engine settings are turned off and I believe the Homepage is private which is the only page that was viewed

Thank you for sharing. Without knowing more about the site it’s tough to give a more educated answer, but it’s quite possible that someone else was looking to see if the same free
.wordpress.comdomain was available or already taken which might be why you got a visitor from an unexpected country. Otherwise, it could be anything from someone using a vpn to something as simple as a bot.
With that said, if your site is private, then none of the content would be viewable regardless. -
