Viewing old wp site

    I had a website a few years ago that I’ve since cancelled hosting for, but I can’t seem to find any of the content back up from it. Not a huge deal, but I’d like to see what was on the site if possible. Before I cancelled the hosting, i copied the public html folder and www folder from the server so i have all of the wordpress files, but is there any way to import them somewhere to view my site in some way?

    I’m fine installing a lamp stack on ubuntu to view it, but copying the folders over doesn’t seem to help and I’m not sure if this will even work. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Those files aren’t sufficient to restore. You forgot to backup the database where all content was stored.

    In short: there is nothing to restore.
