  Why are my homepage views hundreds higher than all other pages. No referrer or search engine reflects the high number of views.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  At present my homepage has over 500 views fron only 26 visitors. This been going on for three days now.

  I’ve had the same issue – almost 2000 views in less than 24 hours but only 4 visitors. They’re all showing as being from Australia. Obviously this is some sort of spam ‘click’ generator – can they be blocked?

  I think I figured it out:

  Akismet has protected your site from 5,184 spam comments already

  Apparently it is a comment spam bot on steroids…thank you Akismet

  Maybe the akismet spam needs to be deducted from the view and visitor counts.

  Tightened comment settimgs per thie article below…things seem more peaceful. ..
