Hello,
Recently, I noticed that not all my views, visitors, etc are counted. And by saying that it doesn’t mean that I am disappointed by the statistics/views but it is an objective observation: eg I upload an article and some friends who live in other countries and I discuss about it (after visiting my blog and reading it). Their views often don’t appear in my ‘views page’. Could you please, explain to me why is this happening and what can I do to fix it?
Thank you in advance!

Good Morning. Thanks for writing to us. What site are you working on? Please share the URL so we can take a closer look.

Hello Liz,
Thanks for your e-mail. I responded yesterday but in case you didn’t see it, I am posting my URL link here too. My blog is Dots & Lines : https://dotslines.home.blog/
As I said in my e-mail I thought that the URL would appear automatically in the forum that’s why I didn’t add it.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,

I don’t see anything out of place with your stats.
Would you mind elaborating on how you know that there are views which are not being counted?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Of course. I will refer to the last time I noticed it.
On March 23rd I uploaded an article called “A Wake-Up Call”. I asked a friend to read it. I know that he did because we were making comments on the text and he was reading to me specific excerpts.
When the discussion ended, I checked the statistics because I had noticed the same problem before and there were zero views. The views remained zero, I think till early in the afternoon or something like that.Thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
Iro

Ok, a few notes on that:
1. Our stats are not entirely in real-time, sometimes there is a delay in reporting the totals.
2. Tracker blockers are becoming far more prevalent these days, even being built directly into some browsers. If you friend was running one, he would not have been counted, since our tracker would have been blocked.
-
He doesn’t use a tracker blocker. He hardly knows how to use a computer.
I know they are not entirely in real-time but it is mentioned in the page that they are updated every 30 minutes. Let’s say that there was a delay that day… 1 hour- 2 hours? It was much more than that!
Apart from that, the first time I checked the stats today, they were:
1 -2 -3 -0
Then they went up to:
4 -2 -3-0
again down to the first numbers and back to the last set. And it hasn’t changed since.

Currently my visits are all being tracked on your site, so as far as we can tell, it’s working.
Perhaps your friend is not aware that he is using a tracker blocker. As mentioned, some browsers do have them built-in now.

Hi Max,
Thanks for your reply.
I ‘ve talked to some friends and they seem to be having the same problems.
How would you explain the views fluctuating between four and one and why would there be such a long interval (several hours) between the actual views and the views being tracked on my blog?Btw, where did you make the visits from (which country?) and how many times did you do it?
Thank you in advance.

We do our best to filter out bots/spam views, and when we find a new major player in that field, we may go back through and remove them to keep stats human.
such a long interval (several hours) between the actual views and the views being tracked on my blog
As mentioned, our stats do not update totals in real-time. In general, I recommend checking only once or twice a day.

USA, to the home page, once every time I reply here.
