  How is it that I can have 40 views but 50 likes? Wouldn’t that register as 50 views?

  People who have Subscribed to your blog and view it in their Reader don’t count as a hit, but they can Like posts.

  Is that a recent change to how stats are compiled?

  It’s how it’s always been. A view is someone that has clicked onto your blog, but if they are viewing your post in their reader, they’ve not clicked onto your blog, they’ve just clicked like.
