Views and visitors (traffic)
-
Have any other bloggers experienced the same situation as I have recently? Starting around 15 Dec ’13, the number of views per visitor has changed dramatically. Historically about 2 to 3 views per visitor, it jumped to 14.6, 12.2, and 18.6! On one day, there were 846 visits from only 58 visitors, and on another, 439 from 24. I cannot believe that people are reloading the site dozens of times in a day. Is there a glitch in the traffic counter?
Thanks.

Those stats do seem a little odd. Could you keep an eye on them through the holidays and see if they return to normal, and if not, let me know, and I can look into it further for you?

Please take note of the time the year. The stats on my blogs are so low during this season of the year that if I had not blogged for 8 years I would look at them and be tempted to quit blogging. I don’t do that because this is the perfect time to edit and update posts and to do broken links checks and fix all kinds of things.

Thanks for the inputs jackiedana and timethief. I will continue to monitor the views. It is very strange. I have almost 4,000 visits this month, compared to an all-time high of 1,200 in Dec ’12. Today is another example of 234 views for 18 visitors, i.e. 13 per.
