‘Views’ being removed from my article

Hi I published this a week ago https://johnthewhite.wordpress.com/2022/08/18/can-there-be-jusice-for-noel-clarke/. On Thursday morning the number of views had gone down by almost 300, this morning, another 100. Can wordpress explain why the viewer numbers are going backwards? Is this a site glitch? Can this be corrected and the ‘lost’ viewers restored?

Hi @johnthewhite, those are the number of views on that day, rather than a total of viewers so far.
If you’d like, you can adjust the view from daily to Weekly or Monthly to see the more cumulative totals. Does that help?

Thankyou quasir, I will keep a close eye on this, although the cumulative total of 3031 still doesnt quite seem to add up when it was within single digits of 3000 two days ago, I will take the cumulative running total as the “proper” total and go forward from there.

Oh interesting. Do you want to get screenshots of stats for a few days in a row to see if any inconsistencies arrive?
Note the visitor stats are calculated differently and not in real-time. But the views stats should stay once they’ve been added, unless there was some kind of a glitch.
Also — are you viewing stats in the app, or through a browser?

Im using my standard web browser. I will let you know if the view stats appear to reverse, thank you for help.
