Views by State

It would be useful to be able to see views by State as well as by country on the Stats page… perhaps by clicking on the country of interest (in the list of countries, or on the world map), then seeing a list Views by State within that country? Thank you!

In the mean time you can add a free Flag Counter to your site – just gives totals but that might help – remember to get the plain html code (no script)

This would be nice, but I’ll just add that in my experience it would be inaccurate. Right now my IP address is being shown as in Seattle, WA, but I’m living 1600 miles from there. When I was living in Hawaii, my IP address was shown as being in Portland, OR, which was about 3000 miles from where I was. On a recent trip to Denver, CO, my location was being shown as Phoenix, AZ.

Good suggestion, but I already use that flag counter – and it only reports countries, not States.

I realize that location by state may not be 100% accurate – but it would be a bit more useful than the currently available stats.

Under “Details” if you click on “United States” you will see your state count – also for Canada the same thing – you need to have an upgrade for other countries

@TSP – so you moved in down the street with your IP – small world :)

Wow – never noticed that “Details” link hidden up there… thank you! Those stats seem to apply to Today, Yesterday, or all time… so I would still prefer WordPress’ style of stats which include Week, Month, Quarter. But at least that gives me something – Thanks again!

Feedjit reports cities and states and we can use the non-JavaScript version. However, I would not rely on it and I no longer use it for the same reasons the thesacredpath stated. I don’t live in or anywhere near what’s reflected as the city and state that registers on it.
