Views of posts not appearing in Statistics

My blog has been doing relatively well with a few subscribers. But over the past week, the number of views is showing as zero although I know friend have viewed it.
    Any ideas what’s going on?
    Thanks

  • Hey there, I see you have a couple of days without visits, but there are more today. You’ll want to bear in mind, stats aren’t quite realtime — they’re calculated periodically throughout a day.

Also, if your friends are subscribed by email and they’re reading the entire post by email, that won’t show up on your stats as a visit. Could that be the case here?

Lastly, I did notice there was a bit of a gap in posts. If you have some readers who subscribe at a weekly cadence, or some who only check their notifications every few days, that can lead to some strange stats if you’re not posting as regularly as you did before.

We have a few tips on building traffic here: https://wordpress.com/support/getting-more-views-and-traffic/

If you’re trying those things and your stats still seem off, let us know more about what you’re seeing. But I’m hoping this will resolve the issue for you. Cheers!

    Thanks for this.
However I’ve heard from people who have read it and are not subscribers but these are not showing in the stats.
    It’s all rather disappointing.

That’s correct. Your blog is shown in the Reader, where people can read, like, and comment on your posts without leaving the Reader which means those interactions would not be reflected in your site stats.

But don’t let that discourage you! We have some tips here to help grow the community around your blog that might be helpful:
