Views vs Visitors
-
Hi there,
Can somebody explain to me the difference between “views” & “visitors” on my WordPress Stats page? I’ve tried reading how WordPress describes them, but it makes no sense.
Also, on my blog site I have a “# of hits” icon (E.g. it currently shows 2,912 hits). What does that mean?
Thanks for the help!
DwightThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hits = Page views
Visitor = person / computer that visits your site in a day / week / month
Views = number of Posts / Pages / images viewed
Help?

For Hits = page views, is this my homepage only or anytime someone visits my site?
For Visitors, does WP remember a person / computer / smartphone and only counts them once or not?
Thanks. Sent from my iPhone

WordPress.COM remembers a person – Day / Week or Month for the visitor stats
Hits / Page Views – when they click on something to view it not just home page – but your Posts run on and on and the whole Post is displayed so there is not much need for someone to click on an individual post to read it

Ok thanks for the understanding.
For the hits button, would there be a better stats button that I could use and if so what would that be? Sent from my iPhone

The Hits is the only Stats widget available that I know of unless you go to a third party stats package – caution you need to use plain html code for any outside stats package
