Vigilance category links

  Hi!
  Does anybody know if it is possible to list my categories along the top of my home page (like the ‘Home’ and ‘About’ links). I only seem to be able to do that for Pages not Categories. I have used the category widget to make a drop down box but I would really like to them to be displayed clearly along the top.
