Vigilance — “Home” Displays Twice in Header
-
I have a question. I’m testing some potential design changes over at my test blog. I have the Vigilance theme, and I’ve set it up in the “Reading” options under settings to make the front page display a static page and to direct posts to a “posts” page. Now, here’s the problem. I only see three total pages in the “Pages” section of my dashboard — “Home”, “Posts”, and “About”. Yet, “Home” displays twice as a link in my header. Is this a problem with Vigilance or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help.

That’s because you have your home page called “Home”, and that theme also has a built in “Home” link to your blog.
It’s basically showing all your pages, and a home link by default. But because you have a “Home” page, it’s now showing two links that say home. So, it’s your theme and you can’t change it – unless you rename your home page.

Yeah, that’s it. You’re welcome.
By the way, you don’t see the built-in “Home” in Pages>Edit because it’s not a static page such as those you can create: it’s just a link to your blog front. Your front is a dynamic page (same thing with category or other archive “pages”) that displays either your latest posts or a static page.
