Vigilance sidebars

Hi I asked earlier about extending the width of Vigilance and was told this wasn’t possible without CS upgrade. I have just noticed that unlike the previous theme I was using, Vigilance has 3 sidebar options. As my aim is still to widen the breadth of my posts, can you tell me if I use the Left sidebar – which is narrower than the default Wide Sidebar located on the left hand side – rather than the Wide default, will this affect the breadth of my posts – eg make it wider, or will it simply leave more white area in the blog? I have moved two widgets at the bottom to the narrow left side bar so you can see the difference.
Any help/advice gratefully received.

Basically with Vigilance, the two narrower sidebars together are the same width as the single sidebar, so it doesn’t matter which you use, the main content area will be the same. The “left” and “right” sidebars are actually both side-by-side on the right side of the theme. They are not on the left and right of the content area.
I would suggest looking at some of the other themes that are similar to vigilance to find which have a wider post area. This post by Panos will show you the widths of the posting area in the various themes here.
