Vigilance Theme Typekit Question

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve tried! I swear I’ve tried! Can’t find it in WP or Typekit or Google . . . I have Vigilance theme, no css upgrade, and a typekit basic (not free) subscription. I can get a lot of things to work, but I cannot change the font of the page names (page tabs at top of theme). What are the WP / HTML tags you have to use in Typekit to get that text to change? And where can I get a list? I’ve tried #pagenav; #pagenav a; .page-title; and nothing works. I got the “#pagenav a” suggestion from a WP forum/post. I can change the titles of posts, posts themselves (and other stuff) but NOT the darn page names that display at the top of the theme. . . and I know it’s gonna be something “stupid” like a ” . ” somewhere, or a ” – “. Please help. I got nothin’ :-/

Hi. I use TypeKit on Vigilance as well, and to change the header menu, I added:
    #nav
    Hope it helps :-)

Thanks. I’ll give it try and let you know. I notice sometimes typekit doesn’t “take” an addition or deletion of a tag for a while, . . . or update to quickly. What’s you’re experience with wait times using typekit?

  • Unknown's avatar

From experience, the wait time goes from 1 to 10 minutes.

One thing though… I don’t see the TypeKit icon on the bottom right corner of your blog (therichardproject.com)… Have you made the connection on your WordPress.com dashboard, at Appearance > TypeKit?

Yeah, . . . I have two blogs which is at least one too many. I was asking for a different blog — I have to keep things straight :-/
The #nav tag worked great! Thank you!
How are we supposed to know these things? The only question(s) I have now is 1) how to make the font on the page tabs bigger and/or B) how to edit the “Home” tab to be all Caps.?

You’re welcome. How I knew which selectors to use? I installed a developer toolbar on Firefox. I activate View Style Information and hover over the element I want to see its class.

Regarding your two other questions, please post the link to the blog you are asking about in order to get accurate answers.
