Viligence – R Sidebar now on L Side, L Sidebar now on R Side

My L sidebar is now appearing on the R side, and the R sidebar is now on the L side. I inserted a probably too-large image in it yesterday first inserted in the widest sidebar, and then removed it and placed it in the bottom (more or less) of the R side bar. Image was sized it to the more-appropriate 130 px before moving it to the smaller sidebar. I did check other pages on the blog, and sidebars are still appearing wrong-sided.

I did a quick search through the forum questions / answers, however, what I saw was mainly sidebars appearing at the bottom of the pages, etc. This is not the case.

    Thank you, thank you, …….

I see two issues right away. Your flag counter widget is too wide for the narrow sidebars and the text “WWW.SECONDCHANCEBIRDS.COM” since it has no spaces cannot be wrapped by wordpress so it extends outside the right boundary of the sidebar. Correcting both of those issues should fix the problem.

Since your reply, I took out the web site address for Second Chance. Initially, before I starting MESSING WITH THIS (excuse me …), the flag counter was on the smaller side bar (at this point R or L …) And it fit. I’m thinking that in re-doing these three areas, I may have moved it to the larger, top sidebar. There are no dimensions to change the size. So, I’m thinking that I will need to delete it, and then bring in a fresh flag counter (silly, but I like it) ?

    And hello!!!!

On the flags counter, you should be able to just add a width declaration such as the below to it:

    <a href="http://s03.flagcounter.com/more/1rQ">
    <img style="border: 0px initial initial;" src="http://s03.flagcounter.com/count/1rQ/bg=FFFFFF/txt=000000/border=CCCCCC/columns=2/maxflags=30/viewers=0/labels=1/" border="0" alt="free counters" width="130" /></a>

I changed code to width=130. Still swapping side bars as before. I’m going to go ahead and delete flagcounter, and bring in a new one. I WANT MY OLD STUFF BACK!!

More composed now: I’ll let you know in a few minutes what happens.

Also, the World Parrot org image came in large, so I manually placed 130 px for width. The height, however, is 4xx px. Could that be the problem?

    Thanks for your brain!

I’m back. The effects of deleting flagcntr code and reinserting clean code did nothing regarding keeping the correct widgets in the correct sidebar.

The only change is that the smaller secondchance image no longer look so distorted … a good thing, but not what I would ultimately like to see.

    Me.

I seem to have fixed the problem …. although I’d like to know why this worked!

I moved the gravator from the larger side bar to the L one, and everything seems to be now aligned properly.

    Any thoughts about this?

    Thank you!
