Vimeo Custom Colours and Options

How do I change the colour of playback controls from the default blue? The custom embed code that Vimeo supplies doesn’t seem to be supported any longer.
All I want is this video http://vimeo.com/8837024 with white titles, play and volume buttons. WordPress removes the #FFFFFF html code when I post it.
Is it too much to ask?

I don’t see any options for customization in this support doc http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/vimeo/ I also did a forum search and I do not believe that there is to customize the colors on a vimeo embed at this time. As I do not help with CSS editing I don’t know if that’s a possibility or not.

I’ve seen examples where people have different colours. Here’s one, white buttons on a Vimeo video with titles removed. http://www.aliciabrownphotographyblog.com/?p=867 I tried coping a portion of their source code but it didn’t work.
I’m a new user so not sure if this was once supported but has now been taken away. It seems very strange not to allow it. The colour scheme of my blog is important. It spoils the look.
