Vimeo Problems
-
Hi, I’ve been trying to add a vimeo video to my site with no luck. I found the “how to” under the faq section and followed exactly what to do to post a vimeo video, but when I save it, there is no video, just the code: [vimeo 123456] (not actual # obviously) in my post. Help! What am I doing wrong?

Try posting it with the full URL like shown in the FAQ and see if that works. Also, try putting it into the post in “code” view rather than in the visual editor view.
Also, make sure the video is there and working by going to their site.
-
Try editing the post and click on the CODE editor instead of the visual one. Put it in there instead. Some people seemingly have to do this, while for others it works in the Visual editor. Save and check and let us know if this fixes it.

The code looks like
[ vimeo http://vimeo.com/173714]on my two browsers, that is a space between the ‘[‘ and ‘vimeo’ . It should be[vimeo http://vimeo.com/173714], I took out the space and hit pay dirt. -

Correction: although it doesn’t show in the editor, once you go on “preview”, you do get the video!

This is the FAQ:
http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/11/21/how-do-i-post-a-vimeo-video/Have you tried both those methods of embedding?

This is what WordPress says:
[vimeo http://vimeo.com/240975%5D
or
[vimeo 240975]But I think you need an equals sign after the “vimeo” that worked for me, anyway.

hihi… i too was still having loads of problems when trying to get vimeo to work in my blog… it turned out the problem was solved just by switching browsers to enter the code… switching from firefox to safari.
hopefully that helps someone!

ditto with me. Vimeo video not working despite following as suggested. I think often the WordPress FAQ is lacking!
