Vimeo video does not display in RSS Feed

    We frequently embed videos into our posts. I’ve used several embed methods:
    With shortcode: [vimeo 18752788]
    And without shortcode: http://vimeo.com/18752788
    For an example post, see: http://hiprojects.wordpress.com/2011/02/21/making-doje/

    The embedding works great, but the video doesn’t appear in the RSS feed, which means that there is just a blank space in RSS readers and subscription emails (feedburner and wordpress subscription). It would be great if a thumbnail appeared in the RSS with a link to the video, or at least just a link. Is this a fix that needs to happen on your side or is there something I can do to make this happen?

    When your readers click the titles of posts they will see the videos.
    I clicked this title > http://hiprojects.wordpress.com/2011/02/14/an-interview-with-john-and-amanda/ and then I could view the video.

    Yes, the embedded videos do show up perfectly on the blog. But the problem is that there are blank spaces where the video is supposed to be in the RSS reader or email syndication. It looks funny to receive a subscription email that says, “Check out this cool video here:” with a big hole after it. Some readers are savvy enough to just follow the title link to the blog, but many have subscribed by email because they aren’t savvy.

    Is there a way to enter text that just displays in the RSS feed? If not, it would be great if wordpress altered the way that videos get embedded, so that something displays in place of the video in the RSS feed.

    I checked the feed and the videos are present, but contained in iframes. Most RSS readers don’t handle iframes.

    Any suggestions?
