Vimeo video failed on Samsung Galaxy device

Hey there!
I was doing some cross browser testing on my newly published site on a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone running Android OS 9 and the Vimeo video in my Portfolio section failed to load. All of the other Youtube videos were fine.
Any ideas for a fix? Thanks a million!

Did you notice this issue in a specific browser? Or is it an issue where the video will not show regardless of the browser you use?
Also do you have the option to update to a more recent version of Android? OS 9 Pie is about 4 years old now, which is the point at which we worry about it falling out of date. For example, that version is no longer supported by Android directly (with security updates) as of March 2022, so they recommend updating as well.

Hey, thanks for your response. I wasn’t able to test the trouble device on a different web browser other than Chrome.
I was able to test my site on other Android devices though — one running the OS 10 and another running OS 8 — both of which rendered the Vimeo video successfully.
Thanks for your help! I think I’m just going to let it be as it has rendered well on every other device I’ve tried it on.

I did take a look at Vimeo’s documentation and it seems that they do support Android OS 8 based on this: https://vimeo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001624108-System-Requirements-for-viewing-browsing-and-apps
If you are willing to try it I’m curious if clearing your browser cache will resolve the issue? I did see that mentioned in a few other places as something that has helped other Android users. Google has instructions you can follow here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform=Android
If that does not work (and assuming you have also restarted your device to see if that helped) let us know and we will see if we can find a way to take a closer look on our end.

Hey, no problem! Thanks for the fast help.
I don’t actually physically have the device. I’m using a browser and device emulation platform called https://accounts.seetest.io/login and unfortunately it has limitations. I tried to clear the cache on the device that was experiencing issues and it wouldn’t let me clear the cache on their platform. There’s also no option to restart the device.
All that to say, when I viewed the Vimeo video on the device today, it worked! Me thinks https://accounts.seetest.io/login may be buggy. I think it’s safe to close the case on your end. Plus I have a more pressing question now, but I’ll save that for a new post so you guys can close this one.
