VinceOutlaw Owns PBJF.WordPress.com Website But Cannot Access Dashboard

  Today I was trying to link my vinceoutlaw.com site to the WordPress.com Jetpack to investigate what stats I can get from that. I needed to use my wordpress.com account, which happened to use the name I used for the website I started over there 7 years ago, ‘pbjf’ (for Playboy Jazz Festival).

  Once I logged on, I had the bright idea to fix that user name to make it more ME (instead of the service I provide), thinking I would still be able to administer PBJF.Wordpress.com from that account. Well, once I changed the WordPress.com username to ‘vinceoutlaw’, I was no longer able to administer the pbjf.wordpress.com site. I can now only login to wordpress.com as the new username, vinceoutlaw, and it shows that I ‘own’ that website, but when I try to access the dashboard for pbjf.wordpress.com, I get a message saying I can’t. Well now I have no idea what to do!

  What looks like happened is three years ago you created a second user account and made that user the blog owner for pbjf.wordpress.com, and removed pbjf from the blog entirely.

  To regain access to pbjf, you will need to demonstrate that you own this second account.

  Do you happen to recall that account? You can try to regain access to it using our password recovery form, https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword which will allow you to enter either the email address or username for password recovery. If not, you can click on the link for “need more help?” which will put you in touch with our account recovery team.

  YEA! You TOTALLY ENGINEERED HAPPINESS today!

  I found the old account, was able to reset the password, use the Transfer Blog procedure to consolidate under this account, and BING…Mission Accomplished!

  We’ll see what other repercussions occur, but at least all my wordpress.com blogs and other associated sites are under one wordpress.com account. YES!
