VIP host

  Does VIP hsoting allows the editing of HTML? Adding of advertisements? Uploading your own gadgets?

  I was told that i could upload my own themes.

  Really like WP interface and i was thinking of getting a VIP host. With ads, i could at least cover the cost of maintaining the site.

  http://wordpress.com/vip-hosting/ Even if you meet the requirements (500,000 hits a month, minimum cost is $500/mo) they might not accept you

  You’re probably going to be better off looking into independently-hosted WordPress. Even with technical help, that won’t come near the cost of VIP hosting: that’s designed for things like Anderson Cooper’s blog and ICanHasCheezburger.

  I was actually thinking earlier today about VIP hosting and thinking that they need to consider a mid-range package for folks who want to continue using wp.com but want a little more flexibility.

  I’ve asked about it, quite recently, and was told there wasn’t anything in the immediate pipeline, although it’s frequently requested.

  That’s a shame. I can understand why they wouldn’t want to do it but I really wish they would.
