VISA card denied

  I’m trying to upgrade to a paid plan but my card is denied. I’ve opened it up for internet purchase through my bank but I keep getting the error message: ‘The transaction was declined. Please try another card.’

  I have no other card. Is there any other way of paying?

  WordPress.com also accepts PayPal.
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/

  I’ve added the “modlook” tag to this page, so a staff member can help you try to get a payment with your card to work.

  Hi there,

  Exactly what upgrade are you trying to buy? 30minuteguitarist.com is not hosted by WordPress.com, so are you trying to buy a Jetpack plan for that site?

  The only methods available for payment on WordPress.com are debit or credit cards, or directly via PayPal. I don’t see any failed payments in your account, but it could be that the problem is on your bank’s end. Please contact them and make sure they’re not blocking payments to WordPress.com.

  Thanks @timethief – I had interpreted the question as trying to upgrade to a paid plan so they could map that URL to a WordPress.com site, but it’s possibly I misunderstood. :)

  Many thanks for your time spent helping me out. After I recognized my newbie ignorance this question became obsolete. But to close it out…

  Goal: I wanted to activate automatic backups on my site Musikmedel.se using the Jetpack plugin (not hosted by WordPress.com)

  My error: I thought this to be activated by upgrading to the paid plan on WordPress.com where I (luckily as it turns out) were unable to pay with my card.

  Solution: I found that the read more-button inside Jetpack plugin was the correct way to purchase automatic backups (VaultPress) and were able to use my card there without any issues.

  P.S I did not write “The blog I need help with is 30minuteguitarist.com.” (which is another of my wordpress sites totally irrelevant to my question) which must have been auto-added when I posted.
