  Is there any way to keep from going ‘live’ until I am completely satisfied with the look and set up of my site? I’m also interested in upgrading to Premium so I’d like to get all of that complete first before my site is available.

  hi onceuponafindshop listing your site as private should do the trick.

  here’s a wordpress support page that address how to do just that.
