visibility after going private

  i have been creating content for this blog for two years. i have now decided to take the blog private, and allow readers to view the content by invite only (after they request a sign-in ID, if they do not already have a WP ID).

  My question is this: can readers who were already subscribed to the site on their readers or followed the site via email, still access this content without requesting an invite?

  I ask this because I am getting some traffic to the site, even though I have not yet granted any invites yet to prospective readers on the now private site.

  Nope, once the blog is invite-only, everyone including the existing subscribers and followers need the password to access the content.

  However your existing subscribers do get notified that there has been a new content but they won’t be able to view it without a password.
