Visibility of Comments
-
Scratchpad is the theme I am using. I don’t see the comments after the post. Is there something I can do to make the comments and replies visible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By default all Wordpres blog have open comments on all pages and posts. Unless we use the P2 theme which is a Twitter-like theme the front pages of our blogs showcase content and comments are collapsed on that page and you cannot change this. The way the comments function is coded into the core of WordPress. By clicking the post title or the comments link the posts on the front page open on their own page where all comments display.
You can enable and disable comments on WordPress.com blogs on this page Dashboard > Settings > Discussion
That is where you set up defaults for comments and other comment options http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules
In a new blog one does not have many posts or comments. In an established blog if the comments did not collapse on the front page it would become a mile long in no time flat and page loading time is a page ranking factor. We have only seconds before visitors refuse to wait and click out. -

You have disabled comments and need to enable the default setting. Additional information:

Hi barbarawhitaker,
Scratchpad doesn’t seems to have a way for commenting after the posts. I will suggest that download other themes that have the functionality.
There are some threads that could help, themes are mentioned there that can comment after posts.

That’s not true unless there is a bug.

Scratchpad is one of those themes where visitors only see the comments area when they click on a post title.
