Visibility, Privacy, and Login – So Confused
-
I have a few questions to ask, but first let me say I have a few things I WANT to have happen.
1) I want my wordpress site, marissaadamforever.wordpress.com, to be visible only to those attending my wedding.
2) I can provide my guests with a password. At the moment, when I go to my site, I have to login using my wordpress login info (username and password). This logs me in as an Administrator.
Question 1: Will all my guests have to have a wordpress login or can I just give them my site’s name and they simply enter the password?
Question 2: How can I see my wordpress site as my guests would see it? As of now, I can only see it as an Admin (I see the “edit” features and all other editing features).
Thank you in advance for your help!
Marissa
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, Marissa!
Question 1: Will all my guests have to have a wordpress login or can I just give them my site’s name and they simply enter the password?
There are 2 ways to do this. You probably want the 2nd option:
1) If you set your whole blog to private, your guest would need to create a WordPress.com account or log in using their WordPress.com account.
Here’s how to set your whole blog to private:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
and here’s how to invite guests to view your blog.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/#viewing-a-private-blog2) If you don’t want your guests to have to create an account and log in,
you can just password-protect posts and pages.
Here’s how to do that.

If you log out of your account, you will see it as they see it.
You can also just use a different browser where you are not logged in.
Hope that helps!
