Visible tagline using Rubric 1.0 theme
-
Probably a dumb question but here goes. I am a new blogger and have begun using the Rubric 1.0 theme. I created a title and tagline, but only the title is visible. How do I make the tagline visible in the mast head as well? Thanks for your help. -Metricsman

It’s theme dependant. Some themes use the tagline. Some don’t.
You may want to add a text wicket with your tagline.
Hope this helps,

howdy drmike: what’s a “text wicket”? I want it all: to keep Rubric 1.0 AND have a tagline ;) thanks ecb

Hey, you can use the Sidebar editor in Presentation to add a Text widget to your sidebar, in which you can type a tageline, and also include images if you wish – thats the best you can get if you want to keep the same theme, as theme editing is not possible at this time, and adding a tagline to the header would require a modification of the theme files.
Hope that helps :)

Agree with Ryan. Best way to include a tagline on a theme that doesn’t use one is to include it as a text widget.
DashBoard -> Presentation -> Sidebar Widgets

But the Text widget goes in the Sidebar…not below the Title, where the tagline is supposed to be!

ok, the new rubric theme seems to include a tagline, because it shows when you go to the custom image header section. But it doesn’t show up on the blog. Anyone know why?

This theme does not have a tagline. If you feel you cannot live without a tagline on the blog, and you have css editing skills and you are willing to pay for a css upgrade then you can insert one. http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/10/18/about-the-custom-css-upgrade/
HTH :)
