What happened to the little tab on the dashboard where you can visit your site?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Staff appears to be doing some backend things. My little tab is not there now either. And the word “Publish” is huge!
To visit your site, just click on the title instead of the missing tab.

My thanks to Staff for removing the unnecessary “visit site” button. Clicking the blog title links still works for me just as it always has. :)

Yes, but once a post or page is published, one sees an “update” button. and that is a consistent size. The big “publish” isn’t hurting anything except by sense of harmony.
BTW: I see on my semi-private blog, post editor: “Search Engines Blocked” in the position the redundant “link tab” used to be. Good idea that! but on my private blogs, there is no such info about the privacy status. (Also no privacy status indication on my very famous (irony here) public blog.)

I found out that the Publish button is larger like that if you have the Surprise Me feature turned on in your personal settings and you are viewing a draft.
