  Why can’t I visit my site?

  Hi –

  Thanks for writing to us. I am able to go and visit san50y.wordpress.com with out any trouble. It’s working perfectly. I am in the USA. Can you tell me more about what happens when you try to visit the site? For example, what message do you see.

  Hi, I can’t visit my site either after making it private. I can access it through the dashboard but not actually visit it. This is the message that comes up when I try:

  This site is marked private by its owner. If you would like to view it, you’ll need two things:
  1. A WordPress.com account. Don’t have an account? All you need is an email address and password–register here.
  2. Permission from the site owner. Once you’ve created the account, log in and revisit this screen to request an invite.

  If you already have both of thee, great!

  I am able to visit it after I log in from that screen though. Just weird that I had to since I was coming from the administrative side.

  I am having the same problem — except it’s not even letting me login from that screen. I can’t get to my site at all. As you say, though, my dashboard and admin side is working fine. Did you find any solution?

  If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

  If it is, please do these two things:

  1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

  2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

  Safari was up-to-date, but clearing cookies worked! I didn’t even do them all — just cherrypicked most of them to delete, including everything associated with WordPress. It appears to have solved the problem. Thank you so much.
