Visitor IP info in stats

It is very important that can map visitor IPs to referrers. WordPress stats offer only referrer info but not visitor IPs. Activemeter and Sitemeter offer visitor IPs but do not map them to refferers. Can you please add IP info in your stats. Also can you list visits without referrers? It must be relatively easy to implement.

i agree. i use sitemeter in addition to wordpress’s visitor info. also, could you ignore your own IP address visits to your own site?

It is very important that can map visitor IPs to referrers.

Why is it important? Must not be since you don’t give any reasons.

It is because I need to know which entry points are used by Greek IPs for my stats. I also need to separate them by Greek ISP.

Actually if I could add the ActiveMeter javascript code then I would probably be able to receive info about referrers in my stats. But right now I cannot do this because Text Widgets don’t allow javascript. Is it possible to have something like a Javascript Widgets where code from external stat tools can be added?

We do not have plans to add visitor tracking such as that.

Most folks who need to closely monitor their visitors do so because of the commercial nature of their site. Commercial sites should not be on free hosting.

You could add it as an upgade. I for one thing would buy it.

It’s a good suggestion and we’ll keep it in mind!

I also think that a lot of people would like to add Google analytics to their blog. Another good reason to add Javascript widgets to your upgrades

We’ve talked about Urchin/Google Analytics in the past and why it’s really not that great of a service.

    *offtopic*

I’d be happy with Google Sitemaps support so I could at least use Google to find dead links.

  • Unknown's avatar

Well to do that, you can generate a Sitemap yourself here and it will check links as it goes. I’ve used it for that in the past as well for dead link checks.

OK. Just to make this more clear

I need to have detailed statistics on my blog traffic. I’m willing to pay to be able to use the full functionality of the stats counter of my choice on my blog. And I don’t think I’m the only one.

Really, the lack of detail statistics is the only thing preventing me from fully migrating from Radio Userland to your platform. I don’t like Blogger and I don’t think that its worth spending money on a hosting service just to host a blog .

So is this functionality something that you would seriously consider adding to your upgrades?
