visitors and views, something not quite right
-
Right now I have 4 views on my blog, and one visitor – or so it says under the graph – however the country stats have one US visitor (3 views) and one Aust visitor (1 View)
It’s the maths isn’t it – or something, or does this happen on a bigger scale with bigger blogs?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

So view stats, and country stats, and total stats – can all be different at the same time – all the time?
-
Page views & country views update relatively quickly – but are not guaranteed to be real time and from my watching early in the AM on my site – tend to track close
Visitors can lag by a few hours – for visitors that need to look back and see if the person have visited last – (the cookie thing) – so they have a big database search to do – BUT – visitors should be caught up for the previous day a few hours after midnight
I find the counts early in the morning very amusing – 1 visitor from 5 different countries with 19 page views
If you really want to screw up your mind – install several different counters and trackers – none of them will match
Me – I look at trends

Hi Auxclass
When you say that ‘visitors should be caught up for the previous day a few hours after midnight’ – can you advise ‘which midnight’? Is it GMT? As I’m in GMT +7 hours?I ask because I have received a comment about something that hasn’t been viewed, apparently. This makes me wonder if it’s spam, even though it appears to be an innocent comment.
So I suppose my ultimate question is, if I allow the comment and it turns out to be spam, (like I suspect, purely on the basis that the page hasn’t been viewed), then what happens?
Thanks
Julie
