Visitors can’t comment & Email Notification

Hi Everyone, today I noticed that visitors are unable to leave comments to some of my pages or posts, and the few which get through, are not sent to me by email notification. I happened to check the blog stat section today, which is how I knew someone left a comment for me(I guess she chose a good page, lol). My settings are set for email notification, and all visitors are allowed to comment. Also, I’ve checked the spam sections to make sure messages didn’t go there. Is anyone else having this problem? p.s. I posted a test message on one of my pages and it went to the Akismet spam box. I’m wondering if comments were sent there and automatically deleted without my knowledge. I just recently began checking that box.

Check also in options > general and make sure the “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” is not selected. Somehow in some instances it mysteriously gets activated.

I just left a test comment on your main page and it posted right away. Sometimes it can take up to a few hours before things will show up in the akismet folder. Try looking again in an hour or so and see if anything shows up.

I contacted support before posting here, so maybe they’ve corrected the problem. I was also able to now leave a message without any problems. Thanks for your help. :)

Almost forgot, I still have not received email notifications. Someone posted a comment six hours ago and have not received an email yet. :)

Same issue here:
comments arrive directly in moderation queue (as usual), but no email notification is sent to me
(several during the past hours) -
If it’s exactly the same issue, which it appears to be, there is absolutely no need to start a new thread for it. Keep the comments here, please.

I’ve been having the same problem with e-mail notification not coming through, though comments are showing up on my blog. Since a number of us are experiencing it I guess there must be some glitch in the system — hope it gets fixed soon.

Now the e-mail notifications are kind of hit and miss — some are getting through, some aren’t.

None of my email notifications are coming through either, I also contacted support about it – no answer yet.

Did you check your spam/junk email folder? WordPress.com mails are often filtered as spam from mail clients.

No email notifications for five comments on my blog, http://vieuxcestmieux.wordpress.com since yesterday. One comment went into moderation, but I didn’t receive any notification. In fact, I was surprised no one had commented but only noticed by chance this morning

Just checked on my other blog, http://blogginginparis.wordpress.com and the same thing happens. A comment is on the blog, in an older entry, so I didn’t notice and I have had no mail notification.
Checked the options in both blogs and they are fine. -

Is there any consistency in where the alerts are coming FROM? Ie are all your hotmail alerts not getting through, while gmail alerts are?

My comments are put in the moderation queue, but since yesterday I have not received one email notification in my Gmail account. My settings in WP are ok.
