"Visitors" not updating – again

Over the last several hours my views have gone up by over 100 but my visitors count has not moved.
This is the third time in the last month this has happened.
My views per visitor stays consistently around 2 but so far today, it is closer to 4.
Like I said, about 7 hours ago I had 51 visitors and around 80 page views, right now I still have 51 visitors but views are at 176.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is a common “defect” that they eventually straighten out. I’ve had 1 visitor and upwards of 300-400 views from 15 countries all day several times in the past year, and then it suddenly corrects itself later in the day. I don’t often find WP admitting it’s an issue, though.

They always say it resolves itself and the final numbers are right. It didn’t happen yesterday. Yesterday’s final numbers were 51 visitors with 177 page views. I’ve been doing this long enough to know that isn’t accurate. I posted a new blog yesterday, which means I should have had over 100 visitors.
51 visitors would be the lowest number in a LONG time. I haven’t had that low of a count all year.

Same here, 1 visitor from 13 countries and hundreds page views. But I”m not worry about it.

I worry about it because I receive a fair amount of samples from wineries and PR firms. They don’t look at views to determine if I quality, they look at visitors.
Based on history, yesterday should have been in line with the rest of the week, over 100 visitors, but I received half of that.
Today is not looking good. A couple hours ago I had 1 visitor from 2 countries with 7 views. Now I still have that one visitor and have 16 views.
Just based on the comments I received on Twitter and Facebook, I know yesterday’s numbers are WAY off.

That page is no help at all. It just reinforces my belief something is wrong. This isn’t the first time this has happened.
It usually gets resolved once someone at WordPress says they will look into the issue.
I should note, their fix usually only corrects problems on that day, they have never fixed problems from the previous day.
I may have to looks for a different platform that can show accurate numbers. These numbers are VERY important to the firms that send me products to sample.

Not that it means anything but so far today, I have had 7 people tweet about my blog, which usually means they looked at it. I still have 1 visitor and now have 20 views from 3 different countries.
Just to show that yesterday was wrong, daily visitors for the week counts are 133, 112, 126, 122 and yesterday’s 51. Friday is usually a good day since I post a blog late Thursday and even more so since I posted a blog yesterday on a popular winery.

Since 5:00 yesterday afternoon, my blog has received over 150 views and NO new visitors. It seems like 17 hours should be a sufficient amount of time to wait for the “delayed” update.

Sorry about that, but it worked. My stats have been corrected from yesterday. Today’s stats aren’t quite right yet, so I’ll keep an eye on them. Today’s may have fallen into the usual delay factor so far.
I was fight about yesterday, I said I should have had over 100 visitors and it now has 103.

Note that once any thread is tagged for Staff it’s in one’s best interest to stop posting to it. Why? Because Staff deal with all threads in order of datestamp and timestamp and every time one posts again they move the timestamp further ahead so that means it takes longer to get help. Note also that posting into multiple threads becomes counter productive too for the same reason.

I’m glad your stats are up to date! I want to clarify that we did not do anything to trigger this. Your stats just needed time to completely update.
The amount of time it will take to update your stats will vary, generally they are updated by early the next day. However, a longer delay is not unheard of and this is just the nature of stats recording. Our stats, as with any other stats provider, are not 100% accurate.
In looking at your stats, I don’t see anything that would suggest an issue with our stats tracking. And the delay in reporting is normal and also does not suggest an issue with our tracking.
