Visits and visitors from EU

EU visitors/visits. Well, most answers are evasive:
– the geolocation cannot find a specific country (so before did it go just random?)
– the IP address confronted with a statistic from most countries of origin (same non-answer).One thing is sure and I hope operators, support and developers are aware of this:
– The newly introduced EU category of visits is a loss of information, not a gain. Or even a way of hiding it. It is not, by any stretch of imagination, an improvement. Not more than it would be introducing “Northern Hemisphere” as a category of visits. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The newly introduced EU category of visits
There is nothing new about this. We have been showing “European Union” as the country in stats for several years now (on my own site I see European Union referenced in country stats as far back as 2013) in cases where we are not able to determine from the IP address the exact country someone is from.
If you don’t find that particular statistic useful you can just ignore it, but there’s no way to exclude specific countries/regions from appearing in your stats.
