visual editor changes my format I have had for years.

I have tried everything! The visual editor has changed the formatting of my page. It will no longer display correctly. I have had this page for a long time and successfully edited it many, many times. Why is it now a mess?! The pictures in my member directory are supposed to align left, all the way down the left side of the page; next to the picutres are names and addresses.
The visual editor will let me change it so they align, BUT when I SAVE it, it changes!! It makes the photos stagger to the right all the way down the page. What a mess I have. I have spent hours trying to get it straight. Can you tell me what I can do to fix it?

    Hi,
I’ve not heard of any recent change to the visual editor which might be responsible for the effect you describe. You may have inadvertently introduced a some stray HTML. See the HTML Troubleshooting support page for examples and fixes.

This could be an image alignment issue but as the Page in question is password protected only Staff can view it.

    re: image alignment

    See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignment

The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.

Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.

Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.

Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).

If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.

To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
    <div style="clear:both;"></div>

Oh, that’s good news! My hunch was correct. You’re welcome and best wishes with your blog.
