Visual Editor is Broken

  Hi,
  I blog using the latest version of Firefox, and in the two years that I have been using WP, I have never had any problems. However, a couple of weeks ago I went to create a new post and the Visual Editor’s kitchen sink was totally gone. I tried refreshing the page, but all that did was make the entire text box collapse and disappear entirely. The kitchen sink will reappear if I force-refresh (CTRL +F5), but I have to force-refresh every single time I want to edit or do a new post/page.
  I followed all the instructions in the support page– everything works fine in Internet Explorer, so the problem appears to be Firefox. I have cleared my cache, cookies, reinstalled FF, the works. No improvement.
  If anyone has any suggestions or input, I would be extremely grateful for hear it.

  Just to clarify my specs:
  I blog with WordPress.COM
  on Internet Explorer vers. 8.0 (works fine)
  and Firefox vers. latest (doesn’t work)

  What’s the exact version of Firefox, and what’s your operating system? Do you have any extensions installed?

  I’m using Firefox Version 3.6.2 with Windows Vista. For extensions I have AVG, Google Gears, and Java. That’s pretty much it.

  A problem in one browser and not another does indicate a browser or settings issue on your computer. Could you have blocked images with Firefox? Check: Tools > Options > Content > Load Images Automatically

  Are any other images not working for you, or is it just the WordPress.com visual editor icons that are misbehaving? Does this image link work for you in Firefox?

  Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with how a site loads. Can you disable them temporarily to see if any of those are causing the trouble?

  Since everything else was in order, I disabled all my extensions and the kitchen-sink popped up immediately! I double-checked which one seems to be the problem, and it looks like the Google Gears extension was blocking the Visual Editor from loading properly.
