Visual Editor is NOT my post-writing default
-
How do I set “Visual Editor” as the default for my posts? For the past few days, when I try to create a new post, every time I move from media or “Save Draft” the post opens in Text editor.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there – typically it opens in whatever it was in the last time. So, if you put it in Visual editor mode and then close out, it should open in Visual next time.

Thanks, Eurello, but it’s not doing what it should. I write, update, edit, only in Visual. But as soon as I hit “Save Draft” or edit media, it reverts to Text.
Any idea if there’s any way to remove the Text editor? I’ve had this blog since 2009, and never even noticed it until this week when it won’t leave me alone!

Hi there – that’s odd. I logged in as you, and this did not happen for me. Here’s what I did:
1. Went to Posts->Add New. The new post opened in the Text editor.
2. Clicked to the Visual editor and saved the post as draft. Post stayed in the Visual editor.
3. Closed out of that post, went to all posts list.
4. Opened your most recent draft. It opened in Visual editor.
5. Went back to Posts->Add New. The new post now opened in the Visual editor.I also tried adding an image to a draft and saving and it stayed in the Visual editor.
Can you please try this again, and let me know if it’s still reverting to the text editor on your end now?
Also, can you please try this in an alternate browser, such as Firefox or Chrome to see if you have the same problem? That could help us narrow down what’s causing this.
It’s not possible to remove the text editor altogether, but we’ll figure this out. :)
