Visual Editor Stopped working Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 FireFox 13

  I went to update my blog around 4pm today, June 11. My Visual Editor tools are gone. Text types in a white font which I can only see if I highlight what I typed. I have disabled all extensions and add-ons. I cleared the cache, deleted wordpress cookies, and used command-R to refresh pages. I even started Safari which I don’t normally use and logged in to see if I could see the visual editor tools. I couldn’t it was the same as FireFox. Also, since I couldn’t see the help ? icon of the Visual Editor I tried clicking the help button pull-down next to Screen Options on the right and nothing happened. It is like the link is dead.

  At this point I don’t what else to try. The Visual Editor did work yesterday.

  Are you currently using AdBlock?

  If so, would you please report that AdBlock is interfering with our website https://adblockplus.org/en/getting_started and try to whitelist us https://adblockplus.org/en/faq_basics#disable ?

  I am not currently using AdBlock as a plug-in. But based on your response I check my Intego VirusBarrier X6 software and found it had something called Ad Banner Filter. I disabled that and the Visual Editor was back. I am not sure why it suddenly blocked the code for the editor, I have had the Intego software for years. I will see if there is a whitelist I can use to okay the visual editor. What url or info should I type in for the whitelist?

  I’m not exactly sure how their blacklist is structured, but try something like *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com

  Basically, you would need to whitelist anything that is [anything].wordpress.com and [anything].wp.com

  This should be fixed now, so please feel free to try again. If you disabled Adblock to get around this, you should be able to safely re-enable it now.
