Visual: Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript & CSS in above-the-fold content
-
I’ve plugged my WP URL in a page speed tool and it scored 55/100 (after I reduced my Header image; scored 20/100 before) for a mobile device and 73/100 for Desktop, with the following advice:
“Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content”
Details:
“Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
Your page has 2 blocking script resources and 2 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
Remove render-blocking JavaScript:

Hi there, we can’t edit or change the theme and WordPress core php script and javascript files, so we can’t do any of that, and it would be a huge job, basically reconfiguring the entire theme, and even parts of WordPress itself. My personal opinion is that Google may be a bit overzealous in some of their recent page speed stuff.
