  I want to make a visual photo recipe index on my food blog.

  Hi there,

  I’m not quite sure what you mean by a visual photo recipe index, but on WordPress.com you can use shortcodes to embed a recipe with consistent formatting, basic metadata, and an option to print.

  Thanks for your feedback Grace. I did figure out how to use shortcodes for the actual recipes, but what I’m looking for is a way to automatically index all my recipes with photos so guests can quickly find what they’re looking for. Here’s an example: http://www.ourbestbites.com/category/recipe-index/

  I found a plug-in online, but it only works with self-hosted sites. I’m currently just with WordPress. Wondering if there’s a simple way to do this that I’ve overlooked. Thanks.

  Ah I see. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t be possible on WordPress.com as plug-ins are not allowed for security reasons.
