Visual theme: Change colour of comment link and remove underline
-
Hi,
I’d like to change the default colour of a hyperlink and remove the underline to match/be consistent with the rest of my site.
Any help is appreciated!

Forgot to mention, my Yahoo email is not working (haven’t received emails for over a week) so I’m not sure how I will receive a notification email from this forum.

If you have blocked email on this page https://wordpress.com/me/notifications then re-enable receipt of email please at the very bottom of the page.

Hi there, the following CSS should remove underlines from all links. It looks like you have the gotten the color for links set in your custom CSS.
a:hover, a:focus, a:active { text-decoration: none; } -

I changed my Yahoo email in WP @timethief but now it’s mucked up my Gravatar pic, as you can see. Each time I try and add the same email to my Gravatar profile this displays a “Whoops” error!
I’d also like to change my default id “nilla2014” to “ImageEarthBlog” if I can? Hope you can help! -
Hi, I just went into your customizer and added the above CSS and it takes away the underline on hover. Can you try adding it back in and leave it there and save so I can take a look?
On the email address, while logged into WordPress, go to http://gravatar.com and click the WordPress.com Sign In and you can change the email address there and get your gravatar back.

Thanks for your help! I’ve added the code back in (at the end) and it doesn’t change for me, perhaps there’s something higher up the chain that’s affecting it?
Also, I usually have the link display in a green colour then on hover it turns white (no underline). I’ve changed this in other areas of the site but this hasn’t changed the commenting area.
Another question (sorry) I did post a question on another WP forum re my images are truncated when viewed on an iPad and iPhone (think it’s because I’ve dropped them into tables so the formatting is easier). But as my Yahoo isn’t working, I haven’t got email notification. Is there a way I can find my original post? I’ve tried searching but to no avail.

Forgot to mention, got some help on the Gravatar issue but thanks for the instructions! I’d like to change my “nilla2104” to “ImageEarth”, will this create any issues I need to know about? I can start a new thread for this if you like?

Shoot, I’m sorry, I didn’t look down at the comments area. They use different selectors. Remove what I had given and add the following.
#comments a { text-decoration: none; color: #40d7bc; } #comments a:hover { color: #fff; } -
That worked, thanks loads! The only thing is that the name of the person commenting and my “Image Earth Blog” now displays bold. Can I unbold this or is this how it is?

That looks much better thanks!
Is there one blanket CSS code that I can use to remove the underline in my linked content, Related topics, etc. throughout the site?
I seem to be changing this in different areas but not capturing everything to make the site look consistent. -
This code, that I had given above, seems to remove the underline on all links with the exception of Nilla’s Photography in the Facebook widget. The Code for the Facebook widget is served from Facebook and I tried several things and can’t get that one to go away.
a:hover, a:focus, a:active { text-decoration: none; } -
Thanks! That removed the underline in the posts and comments but not in the “Related” topic displayed at the end of my post. (I’m not too bothered with the FB underline as it sounds to hard to remove.)
